Tripura Congress Launches Dual Campaigns: ‘Save Constitution’ and ‘Ghar Ghar Abhiyan’
Agartala: The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee today unveiled plans for a comprehensive outreach strategy, announcing the commencement of the ‘Save Constitution Abhiyan’ alongside the ‘Ghar Ghar Abhiyan’.
The initiatives are designed to both educate the public on constitutional principles and bolster the party’s grassroots presence.
Addressing the press, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee President Asish Kumar Saha detailed the outcomes of a key meeting with all constituent wings of the Pradesh Congress. The primary focus of the discussion centered on the implementation of the ‘Save Constitution Abhiyan’, a program slated for rollout across all levels, from local blocks to district headquarters.
Saha, accompanied by former Minister and Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, also emphasized the dissemination of key decisions and strategies adopted during the All India Congress’s national convention held in Gujarat. A significant component of their agenda involves a 1.15-month program, mandated by the All India Congress Committee, which will be followed by the ‘Ghar Ghar Abhiyan’. He explained that these twin initiatives are aimed at organizational fortification, with the ‘Save Constitution Abhiyan’ specifically advocating for a nationwide caste-based census, a cause championed by the All India Congress.
Furthermore, Saha voiced strong opposition to the recently enacted Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025. He stated that the party is actively protesting the legislation and will continue to do so in defense of the rights of the Muslim community.
