Tripura CM Orders Strict Vigil on Pakistani Nationals, Reviews Law & Order, Storm Preparedness
Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has instructed all district Superintendents of Police (SPs) to regularly share intelligence inputs related to the presence of Pakistani nationals in the state with his Secretariat. He also directed District Magistrates (DMs) to remain on high alert and promptly notify authorities about any such developments.
The directives were issued during a high-level video conference at the State Secretariat, where the CM, who also holds the Home portfolio, reviewed the law and order situation, developmental progress, and preparedness for the upcoming storm season.
Key highlights from the meeting:
• Vigilance Against Foreign Infiltration: SPs and DMs were told to ensure constant monitoring and communication regarding any suspected foreign presence, especially Pakistani nationals.
• Storm Season Readiness: Dr. Saha emphasized the need for preventive measures to maintain uninterrupted power supply and essential services during storms. He urged officials to rectify infrastructural gaps immediately.
• Cybercrime Awareness: The CM called for intensified public awareness campaigns against cybercrime. He also suggested holding regular press briefings to educate people about digital threats and safety practices.
• Development Review: DMs and SPs presented updates on local challenges and developments, covering areas like health services, clean drinking water, education, road networks, and irrigation systems.
Senior secretaries from multiple departments also participated in the session. The Chief Minister reiterated the importance of coordination and proactive governance to ensure public safety and efficient service delivery.
