Security Forces Recover Ammunition, Boost Highway Protection in Manipur Amid Ongoing Operations
Imphal— Security forces in Manipur have intensified operations in vulnerable areas across both hill and valley districts, conducting thorough search missions and area domination exercises in an effort to curb unrest and illegal activities.
In a recent operation, troops recovered 33 live rounds of 7.62 mm SLR ammunition from the foothills of Leirongthel Pitra, an area falling under the jurisdiction of Nongpok Sekmai Police Station in Thoubal District. The discovery has further highlighted the need for continuous vigilance in fringe zones that have witnessed intermittent tensions.
Alongside these tactical operations, the security apparatus has placed a strong focus on maintaining the flow of essential commodities across the state. Security convoys successfully escorted 362 vehicles along National Highway-2 and another 201 along National Highway-37, ensuring the safe passage of goods through regions considered sensitive or volatile.
To reinforce law enforcement, 110 nakas and checkpoints have been established across critical locations in both hill and valley districts. Police teams manning these posts are actively carrying out vehicle checks and screening activities aimed at detecting unlawful movements and maintaining regional stability. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to peace and have called for public cooperation as security efforts continue statewide.
