Sikkim’s Development Takes Center Stage in High-Level Meeting

Gangtok: In a significant exchange aimed at bolstering Sikkim’s developmental trajectory, Governor Om Prakash Mathur engaged in detailed discussions with Union Minister of Power, Manohar Lal Khattar, on April 26. The focal point of their conversation centered on the crucial developmental initiatives implemented within the power sector, highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing energy infrastructure in the region.

Expanding beyond the power sector, the dialogue also encompassed the progress and strategies related to urban infrastructure and housing development. A statement released by Raj Bhavan detailed the comprehensive nature of the meeting, emphasizing the collaborative approach to addressing the state’s multifaceted developmental needs. This interaction occurred during Khattar’s three-day visit to the Himalayan state.

Governor Mathur expressed his appreciation for the central government’s proactive role in reinforcing Sikkim’s infrastructure. He also drew attention to the distinct challenges and requirements faced by the state, given its unique geographical and ecological context.
