Pakistan Denies Involvement in Pahalgam Attack, Accuses India of Propaganda
International: Islamabad has vehemently denied any connection to the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam that resulted in the tragic loss of 26 lives. Instead of accepting responsibility, the Pakistani government has launched a counter-narrative, accusing India of orchestrating a smear campaign and engaging in baseless propaganda.
In a diplomatic move following the incident, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a crucial telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, on Sunday. During this call, Dar firmly rejected India’s allegations, dismissing them as entirely “unfounded.” He asserted that these accusations were part of India’s pattern of “unilateral actions and baseless propaganda” aimed at tarnishing Pakistan’s image.
The details of this high-level discussion were officially communicated through a post on X by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The statement highlighted that “Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, today held a telephone conversation with Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi.” The ministry further revealed that Dar briefed Wang Yi on the prevailing regional dynamics and conveyed Pakistan’s appreciation for China’s consistent and steadfast support.
Beyond addressing the immediate crisis, Dar also emphasized Pakistan’s enduring commitment to its relationship with China, describing their bond as “iron-clad.” He reaffirmed the two nations’ shared aspiration for an “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.” Both Pakistan and China reiterated their joint determination to safeguard regional peace, stand against unilateralism, and promote mutual respect and understanding, with a clear emphasis on bolstering their bilateral cooperation in various spheres.
