Assam: Bir Lachit Sena Members Booked for Hooliganism Following Alleged Harassment
Guwahati: Tensions are running high in Rangia as police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against several members of the Bir Lachit Sena following allegations of disruptive and unruly behavior. The charges stem from an incident at a local business.
The complaint details how the accused individuals purportedly forcibly entered a commercial establishment operated by an individual associated with the Rashtriya Bajrang Dal.
During the alleged intrusion, the victim reportedly endured both physical and psychological distress. Sources indicate he was compelled to perform demeaning acts, including repeatedly standing and sitting while holding his ears, a spectacle that was subsequently circulated widely across social media platforms.
The Rashtriya Bajrang Dal has reacted strongly to these events. Their president, Dinesh Kalita, has voiced vehement condemnation of the alleged actions and has called upon law enforcement agencies to take immediate and stringent measures against all those involved. Kalita further cautioned that any perceived inaction could lead to widespread protests and unrest.
This is not the first time the Bir Lachit Sena has come under public scrutiny. The organization has previously been implicated in various controversies, including accusations related to schemes involving deceptive enticement, showing disrespect towards artists, and instances of misconduct with members of the press. This latest episode has amplified public anger, leading to increased demands for decisive intervention by the police.
Presently, law enforcement authorities are actively engaged in efforts to locate and apprehend the members of the Bir Lachit Sena who are currently evading capture. One individual, identified as Moon Kalita, has already been taken into custody in connection with the case.
