Assam: AITC Bets on Ramsiary’s Grassroots Appeal in Bajali’s Zilla Parishad Race
Guwahati: As the Assam Panchayat elections draw near, the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has intensified its campaign efforts in Bajali district, focusing prominently on Punam Ramsiary, their candidate for Ward No. 5 of the North Bajali Zilla Parishad. Ramsiary’s campaign has traversed through the localities of Pub Chariyali, Pub Reehabari, under the Manikpur Gaon Panchayat, and segments of Bandhsidhani GP, where she directly interacted with residents, seeking their support.
Dipen Ramsiary, President of the Baksa District Trinamool Congress Committee and the election observer for Bajali, joined the campaign, addressing gatherings and expressing strong confidence in the party’s impending victory. He highlighted the significant grassroots support the party has garnered, urging voters to cast their ballots for the “Jora Phool” (twin flowers) symbol, and asserting that Punam Ramsiary’s win was practically guaranteed.
Candidate Punam Ramsiary, in her campaign speeches, reiterated her confidence in securing the win, promising to bring focused developmental initiatives to the region. She specifically pledged to prioritize the welfare of the Bodo and Muslim communities, while also addressing the developmental needs of underdeveloped areas populated by Assamese-speaking residents.
The AITC campaign also saw the participation of key party figures, including Prabin Boro, the regional council candidate from Bandhsidhani Gaon Panchayat, who worked alongside Ramsiary to strengthen the party’s presence on the ground.
