Sikdar’s statement underscored a strong stance against terrorism, advocating for sustained military action until every terrorist harboured in Pakistan is eliminated.

Issuing a robust declaration, Sikdar lauded the bravery and efficacy of the Indian armed forces, firmly asserting the nation’s inherent right to defend itself against cross-border terrorism. His remarks highlighted the critical need for a decisive and unwavering approach to combatting terrorist threats emanating from Pakistani soil.

Speaking with the press, Sikdar passionately insisted that terrorism must be eradicated completely, emphasizing that India should not hesitate to mount an even stronger military response should it face further provocation. His words resonated with a sense of urgency and determination to root out the menace of terrorism.

In Assamese, Sikdar passionately stated, “Sontrosbadik damon koribo lage. Sontrosbadik nipat koribo lage,” which translates to “Terrorists must be suppressed. Terrorists must be destroyed.” He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Indian Army for their courageous and precise execution of Operation Sindoor, expressing profound pride in their unwavering dedication and sacrifices, saying, “Moi Bharatiya Sena Bahinik subhechha jonaicho. Teolokor tyagok homoy srodhha janau,” conveying his deep respect and gratitude to the soldiers.

Further articulating his stance, Sikdar asserted that any terrorist casting a shadow over Indian territory must be eliminated without any leniency. He strongly urged for a continuous and relentless campaign targeting terror organizations based in Pakistan, declaring, “Until every terrorist in Pakistan is eliminated, India must continue its war against terror.” Sikdar did not shy away from suggesting a more extensive military undertaking, urging the Government of India to contemplate a formal declaration of war against Pakistan if it persists in providing shelter and support to terrorist groups.

In an impassioned expression of nationalistic fervor, Sikdar conveyed his personal readiness to contribute to the nation’s defence. “As a citizen of India, I too wish to join this war if needed. Even if I have to sacrifice my life for Mother India, every terrorist must be destroyed,” he affirmed.

The Congress leader’s pronouncements arrive amidst heightened nationalistic sentiments spurred by the successful cross-border operation, which has garnered widespread praise for its precision and strategic planning. Operation Sindoor is believed to have successfully targeted significant terrorist infrastructure located deep within Pakistan-occupied territory, inflicting substantial damage on anti-India terror outfits.
