Northeast CMs Unite in Strong Support for ‘Operation Sindoor’
Guwahati: In a resounding display of solidarity, the chief ministers of India’s northeastern states have unequivocally voiced their support for ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Indian armed forces’ decisive cross-border action targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The operation, executed on this day, May 7th, is widely seen as a firm and direct response to the devastating terror attack that occurred in Pahalgam on April 22nd.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media platform X to express his strong approval, simply stating “जय हिन्द 🇮🇳 #OperationSindoor,” conveying a powerful message of national pride and endorsement of the military’s action. Echoing this sentiment, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma declared, “India remembers and India fights back. There is no room for terrorism. Jai Hind,” emphasizing the nation’s resolve to combat terrorism and seek retribution for such acts of violence.
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang lauded ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a clear demonstration of India’s “unwavering resolve.” He commended the armed forces for their bravery in delivering justice and upholding the dignity of Indian mothers, asserting that, “Their courage protects our sovereignty.” The emotional impact of the Pahalgam attack, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 individuals, was palpable in the statement of former Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, who remarked, “The wounds of Pahalgam still ache, but today, justice has begun to answer. Jai Hind!”
Further reinforcing the unified stance of the region, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu also conveyed his support with the patriotic message, “भारत माता की जय 🇮🇳 #OperationSindoor.” Similarly, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha added his voice to the chorus, stating emphatically on X, “Jai Hind 🇮🇳 Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
