Guwahati: A tragic incident has been reported in Guwahati city just a day ahead of the International Women’s Day.
A 46-year-old man has been detained for sexually assaulting a minor girl in Guwahati on Monday.
The accused identified as Mohammad Betan Ali.
The incident took place when the victim girl (aged 18 years) was alone at home.
Taking opportunity of the moment, the accused got inside the house and allegedly committed the heinous crime.
Following the incident, the accused has been detained by the Dispur Police of Guwahati.
A fresh case under sections 393/23 u/s 376(3) IPC r/w/s 6 POCSO Act has been registered against the accused.
