An 11-year-old school going girl committed suicide by hanging reportedly after mother refused her for a picnic, the incident occurred on August 14 under Rhenock police station in East Sikkim. According to police, the investigation has revealed that the deceased reportedly had asked permission from her mother to go for a picnic on August 15 which her mother had denied and scolded her as her examination was going on.
The deceased in a fit of rage, as usual, had gone to the sitting room where she used to study. The mother had gone to give her a glass of milk to her and found out that the deceased had locked herself inside the sitting room of their residence. The mother reportedly had peeked through the window and saw the deceased hanging. A case of unnatural death has been registered.
