Cashew is cultivated on about 50 acres of land in Nala village of Jamtara. It is called the cashew city of Jharkhand.
The cashew plantation here is not like this anywhere in Jharkhand. There are big gardens and the working people sell it at a very cheap price. The farmers here do not have many facilities to do farming but still the farmers are happy with this farming.
The district administration and forest department have decided to plant about 50,000 cashew saplings this year.
The climate and soil of state is favorable for cashew cultivation.
In 1990, the farmers with the deputy commissioner conducted a ground test with the help of agricultural scientists from Orissa and found that the soil here was better for cashew produce.
After which they started cultivating dry fruits. The forest department planted a cashew plant on a large scale. The plants became trees. Thousands of cashew trees began to appear. And this is how the price of Cashew in the state is cheaper than the other states.
