AAI Completes 1st Flight Test Landing At New Greenfield Airport In Arunachal

Guwahati: The Airport Authority of India (AAI) accomplished the maiden flying test landing without incident at the Hollongi airport in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday.

The first full-fledged airport in Arunachal Pradesh will open this year on Independence Day at Hollongi, which is close to the capital city of Itanagar.

The airport will assist connect the state by air and is located around 15 kilometres from the capital.

It was created by the Airport Authority of India and would be compatible with aircraft in the A-321 category.

According to reports, the airport’s runway would be extended by 500 metres to make room for the A-321 type of aircraft.

The airport, which will be constructed on a 4,100 square metre site, will have eight check-in counters. 200 people can fit on it during the busiest times of the day.

The airport’s construction was expected to cost about Rs 645 crores.
