AAP Alleges: Rs. 20Cr Offered to Join BJP

Guwahati: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday alleged that the BJP has threatened four of its MLAs telling them they would have to deal with “false cases, the CBI, and the ED” if they did not defect and join the saffron party.

AAP’s national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh stated during a news conference that the BJP had given Ajay Dutt, Sanjeev Jha, Somnath Bharati, and Kuldeep Rs 20 crore apiece to switch sides and Rs 25 crore if they brought other party officials with them.

He asserted that leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with whom they had “friendly relations,” approached AAP MLAs.

According to Singh, who was quoted by PTI, “They have been offered Rs 20 crore apiece if they join the party and Rs 25 crore if they bring other MLAs with them.”

He continued, “They (BJP leaders) warned our MLAs that they would have to deal with the same fake cases, the CBI, and the ED that Manish Sisodia (Delhi Deputy Chief Minister) is dealing with if they refused the offer and joined the BJP.

The AAP MP charged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working to topple Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal-led administration and attempting to recruit AAP lawmakers “by hook or crook” into the BJP.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, further asserted that it is a “serious concern” that several AAP MLAs have informed him they are being threatened with expulsion from the party.

“Some AAP MLAs have told me in the past two to three days that they are being threatened with the CBI and ED and that they are being offered money to leave the party; this is a very serious problem. To discuss this, we have scheduled a meeting of our political affairs for 4 pm,” he said.
