AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal links CBI summons to Gujarat polls: ‘Manish Sisodia will be in jail till December 8’

Guwahati: Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal connected the approaching Gujarat Assembly elections to the ongoing CBI investigation into the purported Delhi excise policy scandal on Monday (October 17, 2022). According to Kejriwal, Sisodia will be “kept in jail” till the election results were announced on December 8th. Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia arrived at the CBI headquarters to undergo interrogation in the excise policy case as the Delhi CM made his testimony.

“Gujarat results will be out on December 8. These people will keep Sisodia in jail till then. So that he does not go for campaigning in Gujarat elections,” the Delhi CM said.

Kejriwal compared the opposing leader to Bhagat Singh and referred to this as the “second war for freedom” today.

Kejriwal tweeted, “Jail bars and hanging noose could not deter Bhagat Singh’s lofty intentions. This is the second fight for freedom. Manish Sisodia and Satyendra are today’s Bhagat Singh. After 75 years, the country got an education minister who gave the poor a hope for a brighter future by giving a good education.”

The excise department’s head Sisodia has come under fire for alleged willful and flagrant procedural errors that gave the procedure of awarding liquor licences for the years 2021–2022 unwarranted advantages.

The Gujarat elections are today and the Delhi CM and his Punjabi counterpart, Bhagwant Mann are scheduled to speak at public gatherings there.
