AAP Confident of Winning Assam Assembly Elections in 2026, says Punjab CM

Guwahati, 14th April: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed confidence that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will emerge victorious in the 2026 Assam assembly elections, predicting a government formation in the state.

During a campaign event for Rishiraj Koundinya, the AAP candidate in Sonitpur, Mann drew parallels between Punjab and Assam, emphasizing cultural and economic similarities.

Mann pledged to improve the conditions of tea garden workers in Assam by increasing their daily wage to Rs 450 and enacting supportive legislation.

He criticized the priorities of the BJP-led Assam government, advocating for a focus on public welfare rather than capitalist interests.

Mann also targeted Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, alleging neglect of public education and suggesting personal motives behind the lack of improvements.

Claiming that Sarma’s wife owns a private school, Mann insinuated that the Chief Minister may not be interested in developing government schools.

AAP has nominated candidates in two constituencies in Assam for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
