AAP Nominates Swati Maliwal, Sanjay Singh, and ND Gupta for Rajya Sabha Elections

National Desk, 5th January: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unveiled its lineup for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Delhi on January 19. Swati Maliwal, the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), has been nominated, along with the re-nomination of Sanjay Singh, currently in jail over an alleged liquor scam, and ND Gupta for a second term.

Swati Maliwal, recognized for her advocacy in women’s rights and social issues, began her career in activism at a young age. As the DCW chairperson since 2015, she has been a staunch advocate against violence towards women and a promoter of gender equality.

Sanjay Singh, despite being in jail, secured permission from a Delhi court to sign his Rajya Sabha re-nomination papers. His term is set to conclude on January 27. ND Gupta, the third nominee, is also set for a second term in the Upper House.

Sushil Kumar Gupta, whose term is ending this month, has expressed his intention to shift focus to electoral politics in Haryana, a decision respected by the party.
