AAP Transgender Wing Launches ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ Campaign in Delhi

National Desk, 29th April: The transgender wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has kicked off the ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ campaign in Delhi, aiming to rally public support for their cause.

Led by AAP leader Dilip Pandey and councilor Bobby Kinnar, the campaign underscores the importance of inclusivity and representation in politics, advocating for the rights and visibility of the transgender community.

In parallel, the Supreme Court is poised to hear Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s petition challenging his recent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta will preside over today’s hearing.

Kejriwal’s petition, filed on April 10 following a ruling by the Delhi High Court, argues that his arrest was politically motivated and based on unreliable evidence. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, senior lawyer representing Kejriwal, contends that crucial documents were withheld from the defense, leading to an unfair arrest and remand.

The petition calls for Kejriwal’s immediate release and challenges the legality of his arrest, citing allegedly contradictory and belated statements from co-accused turned approvers.

However, the Delhi High Court’s dismissal of Kejriwal’s plea cited his alleged involvement in illicit fund utilization and the formulation of a now-defunct liquor policy. The court also accused him of soliciting kickbacks and engaging in scandalous activities during his tenure as the national convenor of AAP.
