AAP: Yogi Adopting ‘Kejriwal Model’ In UP

Guwahati: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed on Wednesday that the Uttar Pradesh government was implementing the “Kejriwal Model” by offering free bus trips to women above the age of 60.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced earlier today that the state would soon offer free travel to women above the age of 60.

“Very soon in Uttar Pradesh we are going to introduce free travel for ‍ and ‍ above 60 years of age in government buses,” he said in a tweet.

Sanjay Singh, an AAP member from Uttar Pradesh, claimed that a rebellion is currently building within the party.

“After Bihar, there seems to be a rebellion against Modi ji in UP,” he said.

AAP’s political affairs committee member Atishi joined the troupe and said, “So Modi opposes freebies and Yogi proposes freebies! Battle lines are drawn within the BJP!”

Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attempted to warn people against freebies and how they may hamper the country’s progress while addressing a crowd in UP earlier last month.

Following PM Modi’s remark, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP members defended their stance, claiming that offering the public free and high-quality services in the areas of education, healthcare, electricity, and water were not freebies but rather the government waiving bank loans for “a few friends.”
