Guwahati, 24th November: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has appointed Utpal Sarma as its new president during the ongoing convention in Assam’s Morigaon.
This decision follows the resignation of former president Dipanka Kumar Nath, who cited personal reasons for stepping down. Meanwhile, Shankar Jyoti Baruah has retained the position of general secretary.
Utpal Sarma, expressing gratitude to the people of Morigaon, emphasized the importance of unity and support to address the concerns of Assam’s indigenous population.
The change in leadership marks a significant development in AASU’s ongoing efforts.
