AASU organizes Mukoli Bihu in Guwahati’s Judges Field
Guwahati: On the occasion of Rongali Bihu on Thursday, the All-Assam Students Union (AASU) organises Mukoli Bihu in Guwahati’s Judges Field.
The Bihu flag was hoisted by famous music director Dashrath Das, and the AASU flag was hoisted by AASU President Dipanka Kumar Nath.
Students from Guwahati’s Handique Girls College sang a chorus called “Sreemoye Asomi” after the flag hoisting ceremony.
The Seu Bihu Husori ensemble from Dibrugarh officially opened the day’s cultural programmes.
The Seu Bihu Husori performance was followed by a Karbi traditional dance performance and a show named “Junbai Dekholoi Bhitali.”
On the same day, there will be a felicitation event.
Nilomoni Phukan, Late Shakuntala Choudhury, Dharmeswar Engti, Anuradha Sharma Pujari, Diganta Biswa Saarma, and Lovlina Borgohain are among the 14 renowned individuals who will be honoured.
It may be mentioned that the Mukoli Bihu event will be concluded with cultural performances such as Koch Rajbongshis’ traditional dance and group Bihu dance.
