Guwahati: The leader of the All Manipur Gorkha Students’ Union (AMGSU) Roshan Uprety was rescued on Tuesday night after being kidnapped by unidentified thugs.
Uprety was kidnapped by unidentified criminals from a location close to his Charhajare apartment in the Kangpokpi area on Sunday night.
According to the police, after launching massive search operations, he was rescued unharmed from an isolated hideout in the eastern side of Koubru range in Kangpokpi.
A team made up of members of the CRPF, Assam Rifles, and police began conducting search operations.
Search efforts are being conducted to find the kidnappers.
