Guwahati: The sale of tickets for the upcoming India versus South Africa match to be held in Guwahati will begin from September 16, announced Assam Cricket Association (ACA) on Thursday.
Addressing the media at Barsapara in Guwahati, ACA President Ramen Dutta and Secretary Devajit Saikia informed that ticket sales for the match against South Africa, scheduled to be held on October 2, will begin from September 16.
Ticket sales will be held in two phases and will begin from 11 am in online mode, they informed.
In the first phase, a total of 15,000 tickets will be made available which will go on sale from September 16.
Later on, another 5,000 tickets will be up for sale which will begin from September 26, informed ACA.
The state cricket organisation also disclosed that a total of 20,849 tickets would be made available to the public.
Beginning on September 25, hard copies of the tickets will be available at Nehru Stadium. Additionally, they said that internet tickets would be available for purchase on BookMyShow.
The ACA has also stated that preparations are nearly finished for the first T20 international match to be played in the city following the disaster at the Barsapara stadium in January 2020. On September 18, the BCCI will receive the field for examination.
The state’s cricket governing body also disclosed the cost of tickets for the game, offering a discounted rate for students.
The cost of student tickets would be Rs 495, which is Rs 25 less than it was previously.
ACA further mentioned that the Hotel Radisson Blu will be the host hotel for both the South African and Indian teams.
The ACA has stated that they will be prepared to handle rainy conditions this time after the disaster last time when rain washed out the first match of the T20 series against Sri Lanka and ground personnel was seen trying out numerous tactics to keep the pitch dry, leading to a comedy of errors.
