Accident Amid Durga Puja Festivities: Bike Stunt Ends in Collision with Car in Guwahati
Guwahati, 23rd October: In a disheartening incident that occurred during the Durga Puja festivities in Guwahati, an accident unfolded in the Birkhuchi area of Narengi, involving two bike-borne youths and a vehicle.
According to eyewitnesses, the two youths were observed recklessly maneuvering a scooter with registration number ‘AS 01 FN 6295,’ putting the safety of those in the vicinity at risk. They engaged in daring stunts near the Narangi Hindi High School, further compounding the hazard by traveling against the flow of traffic. Tragically, the situation took a grim turn when their scooter collided head-on with an approaching EON car.
The collision was of such magnitude that it resulted in severe damage to both vehicles, including the complete detachment of the scooter’s front wheel. In a remarkable stroke of fortune, both youths managed to survive the collision.
Regrettably, the individual operating the scooter fled the scene shortly after the incident, while the pillion rider, identified as Bishnu Barman, was unable to do so as he sustained notable injuries to his legs and hands.
The driver of the EON car, identified as Ram Narayan Chubedi, incurred minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Local residents swiftly congregated at the accident site, extending their assistance to the injured youth. Some residents alleged that the youths may have been under the influence of banned substances, though further investigations are necessary to substantiate these claims.
The city police responded promptly to the scene, arranging for the injured parties to receive medical attention at a nearby hospital. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety regulations and responsible behavior, especially during festive occasions.
