Accused Arrested for Throwing Pork at Mosque in Guwahati, Allegedly to Frame Girl
Guwahati: In a shocking incident that unfolded in Panjabari, Dispur Police have apprehended a youth identified as Mridupawan Pathak for allegedly throwing a packet of pork at a mosque. Authorities believe the act was a malicious attempt to frame a girl who had spurned his romantic advances.
Pathak reportedly hurled the packet, which contained pork, onto the mosque premises. A note found inside the packet bore a girl’s name and phone number, immediately raising suspicions among investigators.
Police sources indicate that Pathak, after being rejected by the girl he had proposed to, allegedly conceived this elaborate scheme to implicate her in an act designed to provoke religious animosity. The entire incident was fortunately captured on CCTV footage, leading to Pathak’s quick identification and subsequent arrest.
Authorities have strongly denounced the act, categorising it as a serious attempt to ignite communal tensions and a deplorable misuse of personal grievances. Legal proceedings against Pathak have been initiated under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and a thorough investigation into the matter is currently underway.
