Guwahati: Joint secretary to the Government of Assam, ACS KK Sharma who was arrested on suspicion of bribery appeared before a special court on Saturday.
It needs to be mentioned that Joint Secretary KK Sharma was caught red-handed accepting Rs 90,000 from a complainant for the renewal of a security firm licence by investigators from the Vigilance and Anti-corruption division.
Sharma was reportedly detained on Friday night after anti-corruption squad agents raided his residence in Rukminigaon of Guwahati.
A total of Rs 49,24,700 was seized from his residence.
