Active Cadre of Banned Outfit Peoples Liberation Army Held in Manipur’s Churachandpur
Guwahati: Churachandpur Battalion of HQ IGAR (South) and Spear Corps together arrested one active cadre of the outlawed People Liberation Army (PLA) group on March 31.
After being arrested by Assam Rifles troopers, the active cadre have been identified as PLA captain-in-waiting Soibam Ibomcha was turned over to Churachandpur Police for further inquiry. During a search operation the active cadre was arrested.
An active KYKL cadre rebel was apprehended by Phundrei Battalion of HQ IGAR (South) under the supervision of Spear Corps in Waikong, Kakching District of Manipur on March 31.
The Assam Rifles troops conducted a joint operation with the Cdo rep based on specific information that a Kanglei Yawol Kunna Lup (KYKL) cadre was present and engaged in illegal activities. This operation resulted in the capture of the active KYKL Cadre at Waikong of Kakching District.
The arrested person has been sent to Hiyanglam Police Station for additional investigation and any required legal action.
