AEC Road Accident: Three Students of AEC Undergoing Treatment at Apollo Hospital

Guwahati, 30 May: As many as seven students of Assam Engineering College lost their lives in a horrific road accident in Jalukbari on Sunday night. On the other hand, three students (AEC student accident) are undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Guwahati who are in a critical condition.

Meanwhile, three persons including the driver of the DI vehicle are undergoing treatment at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. The victims who are undergoing treatment have been identified as Yusuf Ali, Rajiv Ali and Mojjamil Haque respectively. Three of them have been kept in the ICU room.

It is to be noted that seven students of Assam Engineering College were killed in a road accident in Jalukbari on Sunday midnight. The Scorpio lost control while speeding at night and first hit the divider and then hitted a parked bolero pick up van. Three people in the bolero pick up van were also severely injured.

The students who were killed in the accident have been identified as Imon Baruah of Dibrugarh, Kaushik Barua of Mangaldoi, Kaushik Mohan of Sivasagar, Arindam Bhawal of Guwahati, Niyar Deka of Numaligarh, Upanshu Sharma of Nagaon and Rajkiran Bhuiyan of Majuli.

All the deceased were third year students of Assam Engineering College and residents of hostel number 7. It may be recalled that the students had rentted the Scorpio vehicle from a person. The number of the Scorpio vehicle is AS-01-FK-9605 and the number of the Bolero pick up van is AS-01-GC-8829.
