After 75th years of Independence, First Cabinet Meeting in Silchar

Guwahati: Today is a historic day for the people of Barak. After a long wait, the cabinet meeting is going to be held on 29 November.

This is the first cabinet meeting of the state government in barak valley. Silchar city has become mini-Dispur as the group of ministers arrived at Barak Valley on Monday night for the cabinet meeting which will be held on Tuesday(29 November).

As per reports, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived at Barak at around 11 pm on Monday night from Gujarat.

This is the first cabinet meeting in Silchar after the 75th year of independence. The much-awaited Assam cabinet meeting which was scheduled to be held on November 11 in Silchar was postponed.

The meeting is expected to see possible development-oriented outcomes of the Group of Ministers in the Barak Valley.

Some important decisions will be highlighted which are related to flooding, tackling the problem of urban waterlogging, development of Silchar and other parts of Barak Valley.

Moreover, some major projects including guard walls on both sides of the Rangirkhal canal from Kanakpur to Rangirkhri, will also be inaugurated.
