AGP and BJP Celebrate Victories in Assam’s By-Elections; UPPL Leads in Sidli

Assam: In a remarkable turn of events during Assam’s by-elections, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) candidate Diptimoyee Choudhury secured a decisive victory in the Bongaigaon constituency, defeating her opponents by a massive margin of 34,499 votes.

This landslide victory has further solidified AGP’s dominance in the region, with jubilant supporters taking to the streets to celebrate the win, marking a significant milestone for the party and its followers. The victory is seen as a major boost for AGP’s political standing in Assam.

Meanwhile, in the Behali constituency, BJP candidate Diganta Ghatowal also emerged victorious, securing 50,947 votes. Ghatowal defeated his closest rival, Congress candidate Jayanta Borah, by a comfortable margin of 9,051 votes. The win underscores the BJP’s growing influence in the state, with the party confident of maintaining its strong presence in Assam’s political arena.

As the vote counting for the Sidli Assembly Constituency continues, United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) candidate Nirmal Kumar Brahma is leading comfortably. With the 14th round of vote counting now complete, Brahma holds a commanding position, and the final outcome is expected to affirm his lead.
