AGP Top Brass Convenes with Amit Shah, JP Nadda in Delhi to Chart Assam’s Developmental Course

New Delhi: Senior leaders of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) engaged in a crucial meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda in New Delhi on Thursday. The high-level political interaction focused on reviewing Assam’s development priorities and strengthening the coordination within the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of future elections.

The AGP delegation was led by party president and Assam minister Atul Bora, and included state minister and working president Keshab Mahanta, newly elected Rajya Sabha MP Birendra Prasad Baishya, and veteran leader and Lok Sabha MP Phani Bhusan Choudhury. Discussions reportedly centred on current political developments in Assam, the effective implementation of central government schemes within the state, and the significant role of regional parties in shaping the alliance’s future electoral strategies.

Following the meeting, Atul Bora took to social media to express his gratitude, stating, “Had the honour of leading an AGP delegation to meet Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji in New Delhi today. Hon’ble BJP National President and Union Minister Shri @JPNadda Ji was present during the meeting.”

While the Ministry of Home Affairs did not issue a formal statement, party insiders revealed that the deliberations encompassed various regional concerns and administrative coordination mechanisms. Bora characterised the meeting as constructive, acknowledging Minister Shah’s pivotal role in maintaining political stability across the Northeast. He further remarked, “We expressed our heartfelt gratitude to Shri Amit Shah Ji for his unwavering support and visionary leadership,” and underscored the “transformative development” that Assam has witnessed under the current government.
