MUMBAI – Bollywood is set to welcome a fresh face with Ahaan Panday, cousin of actor Ananya Panday, making his acting debut in the upcoming romantic drama Saiyaara.
Helmed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF), the much-anticipated film will release worldwide on July 18, 2025.
The film marks multiple firsts: it is YRF’s first collaboration with Mohit Suri, the director known for crafting emotionally intense romances like Aashiqui 2, and also serves as the debut production venture of YRF’s CEO Akshaye Widhani. Starring alongside Ahaan is newcomer Aneet Padda, making Saiyaara a launchpad for two new faces in the Hindi film industry.
Touted as an “intense love story,” the film is part of YRF’s strategic move to introduce a new generation of talent. The studio has been grooming Ahaan Panday under its talent arm for over six years, even dubbing him “YRF’s Next Big Hero” in a 2023 spotlight feature. Before landing his debut role, Ahaan gained valuable on-set experience as an Assistant Director on YRF projects such as The Railway Men and Mardaani 2.
According to industry insiders, Ahaan underwent rigorous screen tests and auditions before being finalized for the role. “Mohit Suri was keen on casting someone who felt fresh, youthful, and possessed the magnetic screen presence of a true romantic hero,” said a trade source. “He found that in Ahaan, and the director is reportedly thrilled about the chemistry and emotional depth he brings to the film.”
The film’s announcement has already generated buzz among fans and industry watchers, especially with YRF backing a dual debut. With a proven director, a powerhouse production house, and a youthful cast, Saiyaara is poised to be one of the most anticipated debuts of 2025.
