Ahead Of Bihar Floor Test Today, CBI Raids RJD MLC Sunil Singh’s Residence in Patna

Guwahati: Ahead of the crucial Bihar floor test today, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) visited Sunil Singh, an MLC for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Wednesday in Patna in connection with an alleged land-for-railroad-jobs scam.

Ten CBI agents reportedly arrived at Singh’s Patna residence today at 8 am and searched the premises.

In the meantime, RJD MLC and Biscomaun Chairman Patna Singh claimed the raids were deliberate.

“It is being done on purpose. It has no significance. They believe that by acting this way, MLAs will support them as a result of their fear “Singh stated.

Numerous Sunil Singh supporters gathered outside of his home and protested the searches as they went on.

According to reports, raids were also taking place at the Katihar, Bihar, home of Ahmed Ashfaq Kareem, a Rajya Sabha MP for the RJD. Kareem is the RJD member and the founder of Medical College.

Separately, the CBI searched a number of places today in Bihar and Ranchi, Jharkhand, as part of its continuing probe into illegal mining and extortion.

Following the questioning of MLA Pankaj Mishra, a representative of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the raids are being carried out.

Prem Prakash, who is thought to have numerous connections to politicians, is connected to the locations.

The ED detained Mishra on July 19. He had been committed to the care of the ED until August 1 by a Special PMLA Court in Ranchi.

The ED previously seized and frozen cash totaling Rs 13.32 crore lying in 50 bank accounts, Rs 5.34 crore in unaccounted cash, illegally operated stone crushers, and also seized various incriminating documents that it claimed belonged to Pankaj Mishra, Dahoo Yadav, and their associates under the Prevention of Money following searches at 21 locations in Sahibganj, Barhet, Rajmahal, Mirza Chauki, and Barharwa on July 8.
