Ahead of GMC elections: Assam CM promises improved infrastructure in Guwahati

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma pledged enhanced infrastructure in Guwahati while campaigning for Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates in the city for the upcoming municipal elections.

The assam Chief minister campaigned for the party’s candidates before the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) elections.

CM Sarma said “We vow to build government hospitals, provide drinking water to the majority of people, and develop other infrastructure facilities in the GMC wards in the next four years.”

He stated, “There would be no shortage of funding for developmental activities in the wards.”

The CM also stated that several state government departmental offices in Guwahati will be relocated to Betkuchi, on the outskirts of the city, in order to decongest the metropolis.

CM Sarma professed confidence in the BJP and its allies winning the GMC elections while campaigning.

He further said “I am convinced that all of the Assam BJP-led alliance’s candidates will sweep the polls on April 22,” adding, “There is almost no opponent in front of the BJP in the GMC elections.”
