Ahead of polls, Former M’laya Speaker Quits Congress

Guwahati: In a big a blow to Congress party in Meghalaya, former Legislative Speaker and an ex-MLA Abu Taher Mondal has resigned from the primary membership on Tuesday.

Mondal’s exit is being seen as a huge blow to Congress ahead of assembly election in the state.

He resigned from the party with immediate effect.

Mondal has submitted his resignation letter to the President of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC). It needs to be mentioned that former MLA hails from Phulbari in West Garo Hills.
