AICC General Secretary Jitendra Singh Urges Congress Leaders to Support Assam Flood Victims

Guwahati, 3rd July: In response to the worsening flood situation in Assam, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and Assam In-Charge, Jitendra Singh, has penned a letter to all Congress party workers in the state, pledging solidarity with the affected people.

Singh emphasized the AICC’s commitment to stand by the people of Assam during this challenging time, urging party members to extend all possible help and support in the affected areas. He criticized the Assam Government for failing to deliver on promises made for flood control, highlighting the dire situation faced by residents.

Expressing disappointment over the absence of central NDA leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in visiting the flood-hit regions, Singh termed it “extremely condemnable.” He contrasted this with the proactive response during the Congress government, where former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh visited and provided central assistance during similar crises.

In his letter, Singh called upon Congress leaders, including PCC President, CLP Leader, MPs, MLAs, and senior party members, to personally visit the flood-affected areas and extend financial or material support to alleviate the suffering of the affected populace.
