Air Force Defuses Live Bombs Near Arunachal Firing Range, Averts Crisis

Rigyu Village, Kamle District, Arunachal Pradesh – A high-stakes bomb disposal operation on Thursday successfully neutralised two live bombs discovered perilously close to the Indian Air Force’s Dolum Firing Range, bringing a sigh of relief to the residents of Rigyu village.

The unexploded ordnance, unearthed on May 26th and lying dormant mere kilometres from the active firing zone, prompted immediate action from local authorities. The area was swiftly cordoned off to ensure public safety, preventing any potential hazard to civilian life. A specialised team from the Indian Air Force, exhibiting exceptional precision and expertise, undertook the controlled disposal of the explosives between 10:30 AM and 12 noon, rendering them harmless.

The critical operation was meticulously overseen by Dollungmukh Sub-Divisional Officer Nabam Tarang, who ensured all safety protocols were strictly adhered to. The Dollungmukh Police provided unwavering support, facilitating a smooth and secure execution of the challenging task.

The successful disposal has not only alleviated considerable anxiety among the local populace but also underscored the indispensable synergy between civil administration and the armed forces in effectively addressing security exigencies.
