Watch: AIUDF Chief Challenges Assam CM Over ‘Miya’ Comments
Guwahati, 6th March: During a public gathering in Rupahihat, Assam, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal launched a scathing attack on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma regarding his comments on the ‘Miya’ community. Ajmal asserted that despite the government’s efforts, CM Sarma cannot eradicate Miyas from Guwahati, even in 300 years.
Challenging CM Sarma’s stance on the ‘Miya’ community, Ajmal stated, “No need to emphasize the Miya community. I challenge you, if the Miya community were absent in Guwahati, you wouldn’t be able to sustain for three days. All your constructions would halt. Where do your vegetables come from? You might think you could clear out Guwahati of Miyas within three days. But not in three years, not even in 300 years.”
Ajmal further challenged Sarma on claims regarding the marriage of young girls in the Muslim community, declaring that he would exit politics altogether if Sarma could provide evidence of 8-year-old girls being married off in the Muslim community.
Regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Ajmal expressed confidence in AIUDF winning all three constituencies where they are fielding candidates. He also criticized the Congress, alleging that they are hesitant in the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency, indicating their reluctance to finalize the candidate for that particular constituency.
Ajmal accused the Congress of working as the BJP’s “B team,” stating that AIUDF has fielded candidates in three constituencies while the remaining 11 have been handed over to the BJP by the Congress. He predicted that the Congress party would be diminished from Assam before 2026.
