Guwahati: AIUDF leader and Lok Sabha MP Badruddin Ajmal on Wednesday said that the BJP and RSS are targeting Muslims, Madrasas, and mosques in order to spread terror ahead of the 2024 general elections.
“Attacks on Muslims, Madrasas, and Mosques have been increasing ahead of the 2024 general election. They believe that their votes will increase if their targets to Muslims will increase. It’s their job to frighten Muslims ahead of the 2024 election. BJP has needed Muslims votes to retain power in 2024. Therefore, their attacks on Muslims are increasing, so that the feared Muslims vote for them,” Badruddin Ajmal said.
He added that given their current fear of losing the elections, this kind of attacks might become more frequent in the days to come.
Badruddin Ajmal stated that the state of Assam’s government’s actions against madrasas in the state are unacceptable.
“We won’t support the Madrasa’s demolition. The Madrasa also teaches general education in addition to religious instruction. We will appeal it to the Supreme Court if necessary. We won’t object if the government takes strong steps to eliminate any negative elements that may be present. However, destroying Madrasas is unacceptable ” Ajmal added.
“The government has a responsibility to demonstrate the accused person’s connection to terrorism and jihad. We’re not required to. The government has the right to take action against a person if it has proof against them. But it is unacceptable to destroy Madrasas. Madrasas have made significant contributions to the nation’s independence. The British had been ejected from this area by the Ulamas of these Madrasas. Gandhi Ji had become the Gandhi thanks to the Madrasahs. Keep an eye on these Madrasas, ” Ajmal said.
