Alia Bhatt’s Former PA Arrested in Bengaluru for Alleged Rs 76 Lakh Fraud
Entertainment: Mumbai Police have arrested Vedika Prakash Shetty, former personal assistant to Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt, in Bengaluru on charges of allegedly siphoning off over ₹76 lakh from Bhatt’s production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt. Ltd. The arrest follows a complaint filed by Alia Bhatt’s mother, Soni Bhatt, earlier this year.
Vedika Prakash Shetty, who served as a secretary for Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt. Ltd., allegedly exploited her access and authority over the company’s financial matters. Police reports indicate that Shetty embezzled more than ₹76 lakhs from the company’s account over a two-year period, from August 2022 to 2024. The complaint was lodged at Mumbai’s Juhu Police Station, leading to a case being registered against Vedika on January 23, 2025, under sections 316(4) and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), pertaining to criminal breach of trust and cheating respectively.
While the legal proceedings are underway, Alia Bhatt remains occupied with her professional commitments. She is currently filming ‘Alpha’, a much-anticipated addition to Yash Raj Films’ spy universe, directed by Shiv Rawail, which is slated for a December 25 release. Additionally, Bhatt is also involved in the production of ‘Love and War’, a film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
