Amid Flood Assam Grade-IV Written Examination Postponed

Guwahati: The written exam for Grade-IV positions with the state health department has been postponed until further notice due to the ongoing flood crisis in Assam.

The exam was scheduled to take place on July 3, 2022; however, it has since been postponed because of the state’s severe flooding.

The new date has not yet been declared.

“….this is for information of all concerned that the written examination for Grade-IV posts under the Department of Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education & Research Deptt., Government of Assam which was scheduled to be held on 3rd July, 2022, is hereby postponed due to the prevailing flood situation of the state until further notice,” read an official notification by the health department.

“The candidates are directed to visit the Govt. websites dme.assam.gov.in, dhs.assam.gov.in, dhsfw.assam.gov.in & ayush.assam.gov.in regularly for any update, “it further read.

Meanwhile, 139 people have now died in Assam as a result of floods in the last 24 hours, according to official data.

As many as 24,92,913 individuals are still impacted by floods in the state, according to the flood reporting and information management system (FRIMS) run by the Assam government, which publishes daily flood reports.

The floods have impacted 85,673.62 hectares of cropland overall, according to the report.

Even though the situation has improved over the past several days, 2,389 villages in 72 revenue circles throughout 28 districts of the state are still suffering from the consequences of flooding.
