Amit Shah Accuses Congress and NC of Misleading Voters on J&K Statehood

National Desk, 7th September: In his final address during a visit to Jammu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Congress and National Conference (NC) for allegedly misleading voters about Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood. Speaking at a rally ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, Shah emphasized that the central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will restore statehood at an “appropriate time” after the elections.

“The Congress and NC are misleading people by claiming they will restore statehood, but only the central government and Prime Minister Modi have the authority to do so,” Shah declared. He urged Rahul Gandhi and others to stop deceiving the public and reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to the restoration of statehood as outlined in Parliament.

Shah also unveiled the BJP’s manifesto for Jammu and Kashmir, rejecting the idea of a Congress-NC coalition forming a government in the region. “Based on my experience, such a coalition will never succeed in Jammu and Kashmir,” Shah stated.

He assured the public that the BJP would safeguard the reservation rights of Gujjars, Bakarwals, Paharis, and Dalits and reaffirmed that there would be no negotiations with Pakistan concerning the region.

Highlighting the significance of the upcoming elections, Shah pointed out that this will be the first time Jammu and Kashmir votes under the Indian tricolor, following the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, which ended the region’s special status.
