Amit Shah: CAA will be implemented after Covid-19 pandemic is over
Guwahati: The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has resurfaced after Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the Citizenship Amendment Act will be enacted once the COVID-19 problem is resolved.
According to the reports from News18, the minister stated that the Citizenship Amendment Act’s execution is tied to the Covid-19 scenario. While the implementation has not yet been completed, he stated that there is “no question of turning back on it.”
CAA cannot be a priority as long as the country is infected with COVID-19, he added.
It may be mentioned the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019, or the CAA act was passed by Parliament on December 11, 2019.
However, it is yet to be applied because the CAA’s rules have yet to be drafted.
