Amit Shah Challenges Mamata Banerjee and Criticizes Arvind Kejriwal Over CAA Opposition

National Desk, 14th March: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has issued a direct challenge to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding her strong opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The regulations of the act came into effect on Monday, prompting Shah to assert that Banerjee fails to grasp the distinction between refugees and infiltrators.

In an interview with ANI, Shah urged Banerjee to reconsider her stance, particularly in regard to Bengali Hindus migrating from Bangladesh. He publicly challenged her to identify any clause in the act that strips away anyone’s citizenship, accusing her of sowing fear and division between Hindus and Muslims for political gain. Shah criticized Banerjee for politicizing a matter of national security and expressed confidence that the people would not support her position.

Meanwhile, Shah also took aim at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his objections to the CAA. Kejriwal labeled the government’s decision as “very dangerous,” expressing concerns about increased migration from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. He warned of potential chaos, citing a rise in crime such as theft, robbery, and rape.
