Amit Shah Highlights Peace and Progress in Assam, Credits Youth for Embracing Development
Guwahati: At a public gathering in Dergaon, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that over 10,000 youths have surrendered their arms and joined the mainstream over the past decade, marking a significant achievement in Assam’s journey toward peace and development.
Shah attributed Assam’s newfound peace to the central and state governments’ sustained efforts in fostering stability and growth. He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for the transformative shift in the state. “In the last 10 years, peace has returned to Assam. The youth who once took up arms have now embraced progress and are contributing to the development of the state,” he stated.
Shah also lauded the Assam government for its initiatives in modernizing infrastructure, improving employment opportunities, and implementing welfare schemes, which have all been pivotal in maintaining peace. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making Assam a hub of economic prosperity and cultural harmony.
The event saw an overwhelming turnout, with thousands of people celebrating the government’s achievements in ensuring security and stability. Shah concluded by assuring continued efforts to uphold law and order while fostering inclusive development in the region.
