Amit Shah & JP Nadda To Hold Strategic Meeting Over Tripura Polls
Guwahati: Senior BJP leaders in Tripura which is up for election will meet in Delhi on December 11 at a conference called by the party’s central leadership.
Notably, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda will hold a strategic meeting in which the party’s poll preparedness in Tripura will be discussed with state Chief Minister Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Deb Barman and ex-chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb, the president of the saffron party Rajiv Bhattacharjee.
Mahendra Singh, who is in charge of the Tripura party’s election and Bhattacharjee will also attend the meeting that will take place at the BJP’s Delhi headquarters, he said.
“The central leadership has convened an important meeting regarding the party’s preparedness and strategy for the coming Assembly elections in Delhi on December 11. The top agenda will surely be the election in Tripura,” Bhattacharjee said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to the Northeastern state on December 18 would also be discussed, he added.
Tripura will have its legislative elections by March of next year.
Earlier, BJP national president JP Nadda met with Bhattacharjee to address organisational issues as well as the party’s preparation for the Assembly election. The state administration has already made preparations for Modi’s trip to Tripura, though the prime minister’s office has not yet released the visit’s timetable.
PM Modi is expected to interact with beneficiaries of the Prime Minister Awas Yojana and lay the cornerstone for a number of development projects during his visit to the state on December 18.
According to the official, the prime minister would also probably speak at a gathering at Agartala’s Vivekananda Ground.
