Amit Shah Laid Foundation Stone of Several Projects in Manipur
Digital Desk: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday inaugurated the Marjing Polo Statue and also laid the foundation stone of several projects in Manipur.
“It’s a great privilege and a historic moment for the people of the Manipur to have Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji inaugurate the Marjing Polo Statue. This 122 ft polo statue will highlight the significance and revive the glory of Manipur as the birthplace of Polo,” Manipur CM N Biren Singh said in a tweet.
The Churachandpur Medical College and Hospital was also opened by him.
The national flag will also be raised by the Union home minister in the Moirang neighborhood in the Bishnupur district, where Indian National Army forces first raised the tricolor on Indian soil.
Shah is also set to dedicate and lay the cornerstone for a number of additional projects in the Chingei Lampak neighborhood in the Bishnupur district.
In anticipation of Shah’s visit, the Manipur government has increased security in the state. On the day of his arrival, N Biren Singh, the chief minister, and R K Ranjan, a union minister, met him at the airport.
Additionally, a no-fly zone for UAVs and drones was declared close to the locations Shah will visit.
