Amit Shah to embark on 2-day Arunachal visit from today
Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be on a two-day tour to Arunachal Pradesh from Saturday (May 21), during which he would inaugurate a number of development projects.
The union minister would arrive at Deomali Helipad at 11.40 am followed by Arunachal Pradesh Police. He would then attend the Ramakrishna Mission’s Golden Jubilee festivities in Narattom Nagar. He will dedicate a Swami Vivekananda statue.
The home minister will lay the foundation for a 51-foot-statue of sage Parshuram in Wakro of Lohit district at 2.30pm.
Shah will meet with the state BJP core group, office bearers, and karyakartas later in the day.
On Sunday, he will meet with social organisations and will also perform puja at the Golden Pagoda in Namsai district’s Tengapani.
According to reports, Shah will then address a public meeting on Namsai general ground and announce major projects.
Reports further added that before leaving for Delhi, the home minister will chair a security and development review meeting with Army, ITBP, SSB, Assam Rifles, BRO, and National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation LTD (NHIDCL) personnel at Namsai and attend a banquet with them.
Shah will make his second trip to the north-eastern state as Union Home Minister.
Earlier, in February 2020, he had visited to Arunachal Pradesh for the 34th statehood day celebrations.
His visit has expressed significant opposition from China which claims to Arunachal Pradesh.
Shah’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh is part of a massive cross-country tour that has seen him attend a number of public, political, and governmental events.
