Amit Shah To Launch ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’ in Arunachal’s Kibithoo

Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’ in Kibithoo in Arunachal Pradesh on April 10, 2023. Kibithoo is a border village in the Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh

The “Vibrant Villages Programme” (VVP, with central components of Rs. 4800 crore has been approved by the Indian government under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Financial Years 2022–23 to 2025–26.

”VVP is a centrally sponsored scheme under which 2967 villages in 46 blocks of 19 districts abutting the northern border in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand & Himachal Pradesh, and UT of Ladakh have been identified for comprehensive development. In the first phase, 662 villages have been identified for priority on coverage, which includes 455 villages in Arunachal Pradesh,” the statement added.

According to the statement, the Vibrant communities Programme would aid in raising the standard of living for residents of designated border communities and encouraging them to remain there, reversing the trend of emigration from these towns and enhancing border security. Action Plans would be prepared for the identified village by the district administration with assistance from the proper mechanisms at the block and panchayat levels in order to guarantee complete saturation of federal and state programmes.

Road connectivity, drinking water, power (including solar and wind energy), mobile and internet access, tourist centers, multi-purpose facilities, healthcare infrastructure and wellness centres have been selected as the focal areas of interventions for the development of communities. 

Shah will also dedicate nine Micro Hydel Projects built by the Arunachal Pradesh government as part of the “Golden Jubilee Border Illumination Programme” to Kibithoo empowering residents of border communities on April 10, 2023.

”He will also inaugurate Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) projects to augment infrastructure at Likabali (Arunachal Pradesh), Chapra (Bihar), Nooranad (Kerala) and Vishakapatnam (Andhra Pradesh),” he added. 

Union Home Minister will also interact with ITBP personnel at Kibithoo besides this.
