Amit Shah Vows Crackdown on Drug Cartels After ₹88 Crore Meth Seizure in Imphal and Guwahati
Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating drug networks following the seizure of methamphetamine tablets worth ₹88 crore in the Imphal and Guwahati zones.
The operation led to the arrest of four individuals linked to an international drug cartel, marking a significant breakthrough in the ongoing war against narcotics.
Taking to social media platform X, Shah issued a stern warning to drug syndicates, declaring, “No mercy for drug cartels. Accelerating the Modi government’s march to build a drug-free Bharat, a massive consignment of methamphetamine tablets worth ₹88 crore has been seized, and four members of an international drug cartel have been arrested in Imphal and Guwahati zones.”
Highlighting the government’s investigative strategy, Shah emphasized that the success was a result of the Modi administration’s “bottom-to-top and top-to-bottom” approach, ensuring an exhaustive crackdown on narcotics at all levels. He assured that the relentless efforts to dismantle drug networks would persist in full force.
The home minister also commended the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for its unwavering dedication and operational success, reinforcing the government’s commitment to making India a drug-free nation.
